In an action taken by the Security Forces, 3 of our Christian countrymen in Tehran were arrested for unknown reasons and transferred to an unknown location

According to reports received from Farsi speaking Christian News network on the morning of second of Bahman (21 January 2009), security forces raided one of Church of ‘Assembly of God’ Christian servant’s (Farsi speaking division), the 51 year old ‘Khachik Hamikian’s’ house. Having arrested him they have searched his house and confiscated his personal belongings such as Christian and theological literature, personal computer and even his telephone book.
In a similar action and on the same date a few of the security officer’s have arrested a newly born Christian couple, ‘Nadereh Javadi’, 44, and Jamal Ghali Shorani, 49, from their house. The officers after having searched the house and without giving any explanations as per usual have confiscated their personal belongings and transferred them to an unknown location.
According to this report, no other information about those people’s whereabouts has been received. Their family and friends are living in an anxious situation. The investigations in order to know their whereabouts has been unsuccessful and the reasons for their arrest are still unclear.
The Human’s Right’s Active Christian Committee has reported that until now in a few cities some actions have been taken by some individuals, or unknown groups, against new born Christians who have disappeared after having left their home or work place. Until now, a few days post-incident, there has not been any information about their situation and this has caused a lot of anxiety and panic amongst their families.
